A common disorder associated with behavior problems is Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) which is characterized by a child who loses his/her temper, argues with adults, does not comply with rules, annoys others on purpose, is easily irritated, and blames others for his/her behavior. Often times in older children and adolescents depression can manifest as irritability and aggression, which makes it important to look at the cause of behavior problems. In my experience, behavior problems are treated best in family therapy with some focus on developing parenting tools.
